SUMMARY:CAPTURING VALUE FROM THE INNOVATION ECOSYSTEMS
DESCRIPTION:Realizing the potential of open innovations in engineering\, organizations and companies are engaging with an increasing number of external actors\, including start-ups\, SMEs\, universities\, and public/third sector organizations. These ecosystem actors represent a variety of capabilities and resources essential for innovation. However\, complex interdependencies among external actors often present significant challenges for organizations’\, including internal configurations and capturing value. Organizations gain significant competitive advantage through a proactive approach to actors and coalition development within the innovation ecosystem. Learnings from ecosystem actors on business and technology fronts influence internal organizational units in innovation and building new capabilities. In this webinar\, Dr Ghani will talk about innovation ecosystems from a university perspective\, particularly on capturing value. \nAbout the Speaker: \nDr Arsalan Ghani is an Industrial Fellow at IfM Engage – Institute for Manufacturing\, University of Cambridge. He works with industry\, universities\, and the public sector in building competitive capabilities and institutional strengthening. His areas of expertise are strategy\, innovation\, and supply chains. Dr Ghani is working with companies\, from start-ups to Fortune Global 500\, where he develops and deploy solutions informed by research at Cambridge. \nZOOM Meeting ID: 879 2723 8772\nPasscode: 676565 \nModerator\nDr. Fazal Khalid\nRector GIK Institute \nView Flyer

SUMMARY:Kashmir Black Day 27thOctober
DESCRIPTION:Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control (LoC) and Kashmiris in all over the world observed Black Day on Wednesday (October 27\, 2021) to mark the illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir by India on October 27\, 1947. It was on this day when the Indian troops invaded Jammu and Kashmir and occupied it in a blatant violation of the Partition Plan of the subcontinent and against the Kashmiris’ aspirations. \n \nThe Debate Team of Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute hosted a public session on 27th October 2021 at 7PM Main lecture hall FMCE to raise awareness about the Kashmir and Black Day. They showcased an intense Asian Parliamentary style debate on the motion “This House as Pakistan should support Kashmiri freedom fighters” in which they debated on the impacts of freedom fighters on the Kashmir\, what role should Pakistan take in order to support Kashmir the best without risking its own political stability. \n \nFurthermore\, The Urdu Debate Team of Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute gave engaging declamation on the Kashmir issue in order to spread the word about the Indian oppression on Kashmir this day.
