SUMMARY:Workshop: Confronting Mountain Hazards in a Changing Climate
DESCRIPTION:This workshop aims to address the challenges posed by climate change in mountainous regions\, exploring strategies to confront hazards such as avalanches\, glacial lake outbursts\, and landslides. It provides a unique platform for researchers\, experts\, and professionals to collectively examine and develop effective solutions in the face of a changing climate. \nKey Objectives:  \n\n Understanding Global Impact:Delve into the global impact of climate change on mountain regions\, characterized by rising temperatures and increased extreme weather events. \n Mitigating Hazards: Explore strategies to mitigate hazards specific to mountainous terrains\, including avalanches\, glacial lake outbursts\, and landslides. \n\nEvent Highlights:  \n\n Engage in interactive sessions with industry experts in climate science\, disaster management\, and engineering. \n Participate in hands-on activities focused on hazard mitigation in mountainous areas. \n Collaborate with fellow participants in addressing real-world challenges. \n Expand your professional network and connections. \n Enjoy networking breaks and a concluding session during the workshop.
